Cochin - Kumarakom - Houseboat - Kovalam - Kanyakumari - Trivandrum

04 nights / 05 days

On arrival you will be met by our representative & transferred to Kumarakom - is an emerald peninsula of paddy fields, meandering lagoons and backwaters that juts out into Lake Vembanad. Perhaps more famously knows as the backwaters this area is unique being made up of labyrinth of canals and lakes that stretch between the capital Cochin and Quilon in the south. From the vastness of Lake Vembanad to the quiet streams just large enough for a canoe, the Backwaters form the arteries through which rural daily life calmly flows - children splashing in the water, women washing clothes at the water's edge, fishermen up to their necks in water digging out fish with their feet, rice barges transporting coconuts and rice (the staples of the Keralan diet) and, above all, an overriding sense of peace and tranquility that permeates every aspect of this stunning region. Upon arrival check in. Rest of the day is free for leisure. Overnight stay in Kumarakom.

After breakfast time at leisure, later check out and transfer to jetty. Embark on a private houseboat before setting off on a day cruise along the enchanting backwaters - sailing along lagoons, lakes and canals, passing storybook villages, verdant paddy fields, towering coconut groves and locals going about their daily business on the many boats. In the afternoon enjoy a lunch on-board, before settling in to your houseboat for the evening. Overnight stay on houseboat.

Set on sail by 8:30 am with breakfast on board, check out by 0930 am and transfer to Kovalam - Following breakfast, you'll check out from your Houseboat and be driven towards Kovalam Kovalam is a small coastal town in the southern Indian state of Kerala, south of Thiruvananthapuram. At the southern end of Lighthouse Beach is a striped lighthouse with a viewing platform. Spend the afternoon amongst palm-backed beaches also include Hawa Beach and Samudra Beach. After breakfast, we proceed to Kanyakumari - is a coastal town in the state of Tamil Nadu on India's southern tip also known as Cape Comorin during British rule and is popular for watching sunrise and sunset over the ocean. Visit Kanyakumari Temple - From over 3000 years, it is believed that the back of Goddess Sati fell here while Lord Shiva carried her corpse. Which is why it is one of the 51 Shakti Peetha worshipping the divinity Shakti. Vivekananda Rock Memorial - Built in the year 1970, it is said that this was the rock where he attained enlightenment.
